RP ANNOUNCEMENT FOR REGISTRATION FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS, ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023

Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) would like to remind all first-year, newly admitted students that the registration process for the academic year 2022-2023 will commence from 20th February, and
end on 5th March, 2023. The registration is done online after paying the required fees 57000 Rwf (non-refundable) which includes: Registration fees 50,000 Rwf; Student Identity card 2000 Rwf; Student Union Fees 3,000 Rwf; Insurance Against Accident 2,000 Rwf. This concerns all newly admitted, repeated, and reintegrated students in Year 1. A proof of registration will be required for a newly registered student to attend class.

Note:

  1. Payment of registration fees is done at COGEBANQUE by first generating an invoice through the system and following the instructions given.
  2. All students must report to their respective colleges by Monday, 27th February, 2023 to attend induction week.
  3. All students will need to comply with the rules indicated in the student handbook.
  4. For any support needed to complete the registration, please refer to the registration guidelines (attached).

The IPRC Kigali and the BildungswerkderBaden-WürttembergischenWirtschafte.V. (BIWE) inform about a One-Year Dual Training in: AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY

Requirements

  1. The applicant must meet the following requirements:
    • Being a Rwandan
    • Has completed general secondary school (not older than 30 years)
    • Having sufficient English languages skills
    • Females are encouraged to apply

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS TO STUDY BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMS AT RWANDA POLYTECHNIC ACADEMIC YEAR 2022-2023

The Government of Rwanda recognizes TVET as one of the central pillars of economic transformation and industrial development. The ministerial order N° 003/MINEDUC/2021 of 20/10//2021 determines the new Rwanda Qualification Framework which introduces the additional qualification types of Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and Master of Technology (MTech) in the TVET sub-sector that are meant to graduate a highly competent workforce. The graduates of these programs are expected to have strong technological and innovative abilities to conceive, experiment, manipulate, prototype and deliver industrial concepts, products and services capable of catering to the evolving needs of society.

To introduce these new qualifications, RP has identified Automotive technology and Construction technology as emerging areas with many technological changes. In regard to this, RP has developed two new BTech programs which will be implemented in the academic year 2022-2023. The BTech programs combine technological and innovative studies so that the graduates will be able to function at various levels in the workplace, from shop floor technologies to management. The course work, bringing together technology and innovation along with mandatory industry-based work experiences, will bestow students with advanced skills to make technology and innovation decisions in an industry-based context.

Therefore, Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) informs the public that the two programs of Bachelor of Technology in Construction Technology at RP-IPRC Huye and Bachelor of Technology in Automotive Technology at RP-IPRC Kigali will start in the academic year 2022-2023. The application will be done online through the link https://mis.rp.ac.rw/applications

From 6th February, 2023 until 17th February, 2023.

Interested candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Having a valid and notified secondary school certificate.
  • Having completed at least TVET Advanced Diploma in relevant field (Construction Technology or Automobile Technology).
  • At least three (3) years of proven working experience in relevant field from recognized institutions/companies, or working in RP colleges.
  • Having the Service Certificate as proof of experience in the relevant field.
  • Proof of English proficiency for candidates who have background studies in a non-English system.
  • Selected candidates will pass the entry examination/interview.
  • Candidates with degrees / qualifications from foreign institutions have to show the equivalence provided by a competent organ in Rwanda.
  • Copy of National ID or a valid passport for international applicants, a notified copies of advanced diploma certificate and academic transcripts.
  • The applicant must have an active email.
  • Payment of a non-refundable application fee of 5000RWF.
  • The selection and admission of applicants will be based on their academic performance, work experience records and entry examination/ interview.
  • The B-Tech programs shall be offered on a full time (day) basis.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR Bachelor Of Medicine And Surgery And Bachelor Of Dental Surgery Academic Year 2023

  • To be eligible for entry test in the MD (or MBBS) and DDS (BDS) programs, candidates must have done one of the following subjects combinations:
    • Physics-Chemistry-Biology
    • Mathematics-Chemistry-Biology
    • Biology-Chemistry-Geography
  • Applicants must have an Advanced General Certificate of Secondary Education with at least two principal passes of not less than C in Biology (Core), Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Eligible candidates must sit for a clinical aptitude test that may be supplemented by an interview.
  • Candidates must satisfy all conditions for indexing with Rwanda Medical and Dental Council
  • Candidates must demonstrate a high level of English language proficiency and must satisfy other common university requirements for admission in Rwanda.

Call for Application for Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and Bachelor of Dental Surgery Academic Year 2023

The University of Rwanda (UR) informs prospective applicants wishing to apply for the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and Bachelor of Dental Surgery offered at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), Huye Campus, that the online application system for the Academic Year 2023 is open from 6th to 19th February 2023.

These two academic programs are very competitive with very limited places. Therefore, applicants that will be selected must sit for a clinical aptitude test that may be supplemented by an interview, to assess their eligibility to the above programs.

Details of the minimum entry requirements are on Annex of this call for application. Applicants are requested to only apply to one of the two programs.

Candidates that will not be admitted to any of the two programs will be allowed to apply for other programs during the general application period to start on 20th February 2023.

I. Guidelines for Application

Applications are submitted online through the following steps;

  • Go to UR website www.ur.ac.rw and click on Admissions section at the main menu bar;
  • Click on “Student Portal”;
  • Login to “New Application” on the left side of the page to create the student account;
  • Complete your personal information & generate a reference number and a pin. Please record your reference number and pin before taking any further steps;
  • After generating your reference number, pay a non-refundable fee of RWF 5,000 (for Rwandan and EAC applicants) and RWF 6,000 for international applicants;
  • Payment can either be done through the Bank on UR Bank account number 00094-00637830- 21/Rwf opened at Bank of Kigali or through MTN Mobile Money;
  • After the payment of the application fees, continue the application process after 10 to 15 minutes;
  • Login through Registered Users on the right side of the Student Portal page by inserting your reference number and Pin;
  • Proceed with the indicated steps leading to submission of your application.

II. Guidelines for Payment

11.1 payment through the Bank

Go to the nearest Branch of Bank of Kigali (BK) and pay the application fees via Urubuto

University interface, using your reference number. Please do not pay through BK Agents.

11.2. Payment through MTN Mobile Money

  1. Dial *775#
  2. Select “University “in the menu
  3. Select “Language”
  4. Select “University of Rwanda”
  5. Select “Pay”
  6. Select “Have registration number” (registration number is your reference number)
  7. Enter your registration number/reference number
  8. Select the payment purpose-Applicants will have to select “application fees” and then “Undergraduate”
  9. Enter amount to pay (RWF 5,000 for Rwanda and EAC applicants and RWF 6,000 for Non­EAC citizens)
  10. Confirm your payment by selecting “Yes”
  11. Dial *182#, select 7 for “Ibyemezo bitaranozwa” then enter pin code to finalize your payment
  12. Then go back to UR online application system to proceed with your application process

III. Guidelines to candidates who previously made their applications but did not register

  • Pay application fees using your reference number that was previously generated from UR online system
  • Log in to application portal and proceed with your application process

IV. Guidelines to Applicants with Foreign qualifications and those with Local qualifications who completed High School before 2011

  • For applicants with foreign qualifications, before applying, you should have obtained an equivalence of your High School Certificate from National Examination and School Inspection Authority (MESA) for General Secondary Education, or Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) for Vocational Training
  • Go to UR website and follow steps mentioned in Section II above to get a reference number

• Fill in a special online application form available on UR website under admission through the following link:

  1. Certified copy of your Advanced Senior Six (S6) Certificate of Secondary Education

ALL UNDERGRADUATE ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

1. The academic year 2023 teaching and learning activities shall start for ALL UR new and continuing students in ALL undergraduate academic programs on June 5, 2023, and end on June 30, 2024;

2. The academic year 2023 shall run on Trimester Basis for all Colleges;

3. Each Trimester shall include the following key academic activities and duration:

  1. Teaching and Learning: 13 working weeks (for Trimesters 1&2) and eight (8) working weeks for Trimester 3;
  2. Revision: One (1) working week;
  3. Examinations: Two (2) working weeks;
  4. Special Examinations, Processing of marks, appeals on each trimester Examination results: two (2) working weeks;

4. Holidays: Trimesters 1 & 2 shall have each a short holiday for two (2) working weeks. End of year Summer Holidays shall start on July 1, 2024 and end on September 1, 2024;

5. The Call for application for new students shall start on February 6, 2023, for Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery and Bachelor of Dental Surgery and on February 20, 2023 for the rest of the UR academic programs.

About University Of Kigali
