CONCLUSION AND SUMMARY
[conclusion image]
The University of Rwanda (UR) is a public Higher Learning Institution established by the law n° 71/2013 of 10/09/2013. It resulted from the merger of the former seven public Higher Learning Institutions (HLIs) into a single public University with six Colleges and nine campuses distributed across the country. The UR is a singular, multicampus institution offering a wide range of academic studies. As such, it provides opportunities for students to pursue a variety of programs – some that are quite specialized, others that are multidisciplinary and problem-based in focus – and to undertake their studies at different locations across the country, both through classes at designated campuses and through access to distance learning. All is explained in detail in this blog post.

EXPLANATION
Before I begin let’s make sure we are on the same page. What I mean is that you have read my article on everything you need to know about the university of Rwanda and this which explains the academic structure of the university of Rwanda, cause they are helpful.
Back to the topic, in summary Schools at UR are the subcategories of colleges. Then what are colleges, colleges are what divides the university and its faculties. You may need to read my article what are schools in the UR to know more about them but since you are here let me explain.
You see the University of Rwanda has many faculties that is like options to study so they have grouped them in colleges according to their relationship for example people who study technology are in college of science and technology (CST) and those in health-related field are in College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS).
If there is any suggestion, question or any thing else message me. you can also receive these information directly to your inbox if you join our WhatsApp group.

College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (CAVM)
College of Business and Economics (CBE)

College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS)
I think that is the summary on colleges if that is not enough for you make sure to read the academic structure of the university of Rwanda or what are colleges at the university of Rwanda. So also, in those colleges they have been grouped according to their relationship which are schools, which means there is UR and its Colleges and schools in each college, after colleges there are faculties but that is another topic.
So in summary this is a chart that explains it. Meaning that you have to know your faculty which school it is in and what college you are in and it also helpful to know other schools and faculties. Below is a grouping by order

May you have tried to ask someone who studies at UR how many faculties or departments are there to study, or told him to compile a list of what you are interested in, I don’t know the answer he/she gave you but its cumbersome to know all the faculties and cover them by interests that why in this guide I am going to explain everything you need to know about the faculties in the University of Rwanda. In this guide I will answer questions like: How many faculties are in the university of Rwanda, what you should study based on your interests, and much more.
To make sure we are on the same page make sure you have everything you need to know about the university of Rwanda article and the academic structure of the university of Rwanda, those articles are not mandatory but they are helpful but since you are here go…
The university of Rwanda has 100+ faculties and options to study from many of which are bachelor’s followed by advanced diploma and some PhD which are grouped in colleges and the colleges also have sub schools. The colleges are groupings of the related options and the sub colleges are called schools which are also the groupings of related faculties but in schools.
This is a pretty summary of schools and colleges and it may sound confusing but if you read my article on what are colleges in the university of Rwanda and another called what are schools in the university of Rwanda you may understand everything. But for today just know that colleges are a group of the same related courses such as people who study technology tend to be in College of Science and Technology (CST) and those in health-related fields tend to study in College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS). Also, in those colleges there are some schools where schools are particular groupings of related fields. For example, some one studying computer engineering is in School of ICT and someone in General nursing is in School of nursing and midwifery.
You must also acknowledge that the university of Rwanda has 9+ campuses in which all those faculties are distributed you must also want to check the location of your preferred faculty.
