The University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) is a university that was founded with the goal of training a new generation of global health leaders and advancing global health delivery. It was established by the Cummings Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and is affiliated with Partners In Health, an organization that has delivered high-quality health care and social services in underserved communities for over three decades. The University of Global Health Equity is located in Rwanda and focuses on equity and is dedicated to training leaders who will work to develop health care services and systems that provide essential care to neglected communities. UGHE offers a joint Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery/Master of Science in Global Health Delivery (MBBS/MGHD) degree, which is a six and a half-year program that combines a medical degree with a global health degree. The program aims to equip students with clinical knowledge, skills in implementing public health solutions, and the ability to lead and manage equitable health systems.
